Commissioned by Willy Naessens, on behalf of Pepsico, our team has been tasked with carrying out the ground and sewage works for the construction of a new warehouse in Veurne.

Back to overview

A realization of

The project includes making the subsoil load-bearing and placing a base layer of crushed concrete rubble 0/40, essential for the accessibility of the site for the piling machine. Additionally, the project involves installing the sewage system to improve drainage of the site and the roof surface, as well as installing pulling pipes/empty pipes.

Challenges and Points of Attention:

A significant challenge in this project was the poor quality of the subsoil. To ensure a solid foundation for both the interior and exterior concrete paving, it was necessary to rest it on piles. This also required anchoring inspection pits and receivers to the floor slab or placing them on piles to prevent future subsidence due to underground settlements.

Project in Numbers:

  • Area of the crushed concrete rubble base: 44,000 m²
  • Supply and installation of 11,000 m³ of crushed concrete rubble 0/40
  • Stabilization of over 15,000 m³ of soil to ensure load-bearing capacity
