Because all construction activities at Verhelst Group are under one roof, we can switch quickly and efficiently. Cosco Shipping experienced this too. We completed the first phase of their terminal expansion in the port of Zeebrugge in just three weeks, together with BAM Contractors. The scope of the work was nonetheless impressive. For the foundation, sub-base, and asphalt on the 2.3 ha site, 50,000 m³ of earthworks were needed, and we supplied 6,000 m³ of crushed stone. In this first phase, 7,500 tons of asphalt were laid. A tour de force that Verhelst Aannemingen, TopAsfalt, and Top-Mix, all part of Verhelst Group, brought to a successful completion effortlessly.
Over the next two years, we will handle the rest of the site (7 ha). Verhelst Aannemingen will, among other things, be responsible for the sewer installation. To be continued.
