Verhelst Aannemingen contributed to the beach replenishment works in De Haan for the main contractor Group De Cloedt. This maintenance replenishment is necessary to protect our beaches from storm surges that continuously reduce the buffer. The works proceeded as follows: a dredger was positioned off the coast and discharged its sand onto the beach via a pipeline. Two excavators guided the pipeline to direct the sand to the correct region, after which Verhelst Aannemingen further guided the sand to the right place to level and adequately raise the beach. With the GPS system in our leveling machine, we can finish the beach accurately to the planned height.
